How to Bid and Win
It will come as no surprise that we make bidding on an auction as easy as possible :)
All you need is:
- To be logged in to the website.
- An honest intention to pay the Seller your final bid price if you win.
Bidders who repeatedly win auctions and then fail to complete with the Seller are not popular. No surprises there! What may come as a surprise is that repeated non-completing bidders will be locked out of the system to stop them 'teasing' genuine sellers. If, as a seller, you're unjustly subjected to this antisocial practice, use the complaints link - bottom right on every auction page - and send us the details.
Please note: Bids must be in whole Euros. You cannot bid in fractions of a Euro.
A couple of bidding tips:
- Find your bidding style - Whether you love the adrenaline rush of competitive bidding, or if you prefer the convenience and ease of leaving one maximum bid and then waiting for the results, online auctions fit your bidding style. Bid the current or opening bid if you want to be in control (you will receive an automatic notification by email if you're outbid so that you can bid again), or leave your maximum bid and wait. In either case, the system will bid competitively for you at pre-determined increments up to that euro amount.
- Pay attention during the final minutes - The closing minutes of an online-only auction are exciting. The published auction "end" time is the time bidding closes. You may have heard about "sniping" – a slang term that refers to bids left in the fraction of a second before an auction closes, making it difficult for other bidders to respond. mBay.es prevents sniping with a custom auto-extend feature. Any bids placed on an item within a secret few minutes of closing will automatically add ten minutes to the auction end time.
